7000 MARCH IN BIRMINGHAM AT TORY CONFERENCE

From RUGBY AGAINST THE CUTS BLOG - http://rugbyagainstthecuts.blogspot.com/

7000 people came together to show their anger at the CON DEM Government idealogical attack on public services.

Among demonstrators were Birmingham City Council workers under the Unison and GMB banners.

Unions represented included the National Union of Teachers, RMT rail workers, Unite, GMB, Unison, Communication Workers Union, Public and Commercial Services Union, Fire Brigade Union and even the actors union Equity. Among campaign groups were the Pensioners Convention and Defend Council Housing. Banners from as far afield as Glasgow, Southend-on-Sea, Plymouth, Bath, Manchester, Liverpool and Sheffield could be seen.

The excellent Birmingham Councillor Salma Yaqoob says how it is!
